COVID in School – If your child displays symptoms of COVID, keep them at home and do a Lateral Flow test.  If your child is tested for COVID, please forward a copy of the result of the PCR/Lateral Flow test to the school office.  If a positive result is returned, please contact the school office for further guidance.  If a child tests positive in any class, an email will be sent out to the parents/guardians of pupils in that class.  The guidance has changed; you DO NOT keep your child off school (unless your child has tested positive!), an updated information email will be sent out if there is a positive case in your child’s class.

First Communion – The First Communion will take place on Saturday 21st May at 10:00 a.m.  There have been no restrictions placed on people attending the ceremony, however, there may be guidance in place regarding face covering etc.  Once confirmation is received from Fr. Mc Dermott, all attending will be informed.

New Primary 1 Play Days – On Tuesday 10th May we welcomed our new Primary 1 pupils for the first of their five play days.  Children got to meet their teacher and the children who will be in their classes in September, a great time was had by all!  This is a great opportunity for the children to familiarise themselves with their new learning environment hopefully making the transition from nursery to primary school as easy as possible.  We would like to remind any children who are starting our school in September 2022 that the next play day session will take place on Tuesday 17th May from 2:15-3:00 pm.

Tickets for School Show – Most ticket orders for the Wizard of Oz have been returned to the school office, there are however a few families who have not returned their order forms.  We would ask any outstanding orders to be sent in as soon as possible.  For those who placed their order, your tickets are now ready for collection and payment.  We have been able to fulfil all ticket requests made to date, if you require any additional tickets there are still some available to purchase.

Dress Rehearsals – The dress rehearsals have been scheduled for Friday 20th May at 10:00am for Cast A and Monday 23rd May at 10.00 am for Cast B.  There is no need to purchase tickets for the dress rehearsals as these performances are free to view.  We would encourage parents who would like pre-school children to see the show to bring them along at these times as they will not be able to attend any of the evening performances.  Parents are also reminded that children from our school are not allowed to attend evening performances and will be refused entry if they arrive on any night.  Please be assured that all pupils will see the show at the dress rehearsals.  Primary school children from other schools are welcome to attend evening shows.

Costumes – Please send in all costumes as soon as possible in preparation for the dress rehearsals.  If you are having any difficulty sourcing costumes, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Book Fair – Thank you to all who supported the Book Fair at school last week.  Your purchases have given our school £670.00 in commission to spend on books for our school library.  We hope the children are enjoying the new books they bought.

Netball Blitz – Mrs Gillespie and the netball team are taking part in a Netball Blitz today.  They will be playing matches against St. Patrick’s Pennyburn and Hollybush.  We wish the girls every success.
