School Diary:  Friday 28^th June – School closes 12 noon – please ensure your child knows how                                                                    they are getting home.

Monday 2^nd September – School opens for all pupils at 8:45 a.m. for 9:00 a.m. start.

Children Going Home on Friday 28^th June for Summer Holiday – Parents are asked to ensure that the children know how they are travelling home tomorrow, particularly if there is a change to the normal routine.  Walkers, Yellow bus children and those going across the ‘Blue Bridge’ will leave at 11:45 a.m. Children getting picked up by car will leave at 12:00 noon. Please drive slowly and with care as you approach the school as there will be a lot of excited children about.

Cloakrooms – Children are reminded to take all belongings from the cloakrooms tomorrow before going home, coats, spare clothes and trainers need to be taken home.

School Books – Please return all school and library books before the end of term.  This is extremely important as they are needed for next year’s classes.

ParentPay – Please ensure that all payments for outstanding items on the ParentPay system are made before the end of the school year so that the year 2023-24 can be closed off. Thank you.

Free School Meals – The application process for Free School Meals and Uniform Grants is now open. If you follow the link, you can check eligibility for applying. Classes for next year – We are in the process of recruiting for September. Children will be informed during the summer holidays who their teacher is for September 2024 and where the class is situated.

Roots Of Empathy– We are on the lookout for two babies to participate in our Roots of Empathy Programme. The programme involves ten baby and mother visits spread throughout the school year. If you have a baby who will be aged between 2 and 4 months old this coming September or if you know of another mother and baby who might be willing to participate please contact the school for further information.

School Show –  Copies of this year’s show are available on USB pen drives from the office. Please check schoolbags for pre-ordered copies.

Accelerated Reading – Congratulations to all children who met their Accelerated Reading targets this year. Please keep reading over the summer holidays.

New School Year – School reopens for all pupils on Monday 2^nd September at 9:00 a.m. Primary 1 pupils are welcome to at 9:30 a.m. on that day.

Gaelic Team – A huge congratulations to the School Gaelic team who were narrowly beaten in the final of the Francis Lagan Finals at Owenbeg on Friday past.  They have made us so proud of all their achievements this year.  Many thanks to all their coaches for their dedication and support throughout the year.

Leaver’s Mass – Primary 7 Leavers’ Mass will take place on Tuesday 25^th June at 1.30 pm in the Master’s Hall, everyone is welcome!  Primary 7 will be asked the expected numbers closer to the date.  Refreshments will be served after the Mass in the Master’s Hall.

Accelerated Reading – Accelerated Reading will finish next week.  Well done to all the pupils who reached their targets this term.  Please keep at the reading over the summer months.  Reading and being read to is the best way to improve literacy.

Lost Property – We have lots of school jumpers that have not been claimed that are in perfect condition.  They will be outside the Master’s Hall from Monday.  Please come and take if you wish as they will be disposed of at the end of the year.  It could save buying them over the Summer.

ASpace2 – Thanks to ASpace2 for hosting some of our children who had a very enjoyable day today using their facilities.

ParentPay – Reminder notes were handed out on Monday past.  Please check school bags and make any payments before the end of June to enable the school to finalise the end of year.

Roots of Empathy – A very big thank you to our ‘tiny teachers’ who made such a big impact on our P7 pupils this year.  We are on the look out for two new babies to take part in our programme in September.  If you are expecting a baby in June, July or August and would like to take part in the programme, please contact the school office.

School Diary:     School Closure for Pupils Friday 14^th June-Staff Development Day

Primary 7 Leavers’ Mass Tuesday 25^th June at 1:30 p.m. in the Master’s Hall.

Boys’ Soccer team – Congratulations to the Boys’ Soccer Team who came second in the Sean O’Kane Perpetual Soccer Tournament in St. Joseph’s College today. They were narrowly beaten by St. Anne’s in the final 2-1.

Gortatole – The Primary 7 pupils will leave for Gortatole on Monday 17^th June at 8:00 a.m. sharp. The bus will return to the school at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday 20^th June.

Gaelic Team – The Gaelic team are through to the Derry Championships at Owenbeg on Friday 14^th June at 7:00 p.m. All support at the event is greatly appreciated.

School Show 2024 – School Show Recording – This is the last call for anyone wishing to book a copy of the school show. The full show is available to purchase on ParentPay at £5. Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase a copy once the link is closed on Monday 17^th June.

There is No Afterschool Club on Friday 24^th May 3:00 -4:15 p.m. All pupils must be picked up at 3:00 p.m.

Please note:  There will be no school based extra-curricular activities over the coming weeks.

Congratulations – Our Congratulations to the Primary 6 & 7 Boys and Girls, who won the Fr Gallagher Cup at

Faughanvale Gaelic Club last week competing against 20 teams from all over Derry. Our thanks to Mr Mc Daid, Gavin Mc Shane & Shaun Cassidy and the many volunteering coaches from our two local Gaelic Clubs for the countless hours of time they have spent training all the children this year.

School Show 2024 – Tonight is the final night of the school show at  Broadbridge Primary School.

We cannot thank anyone individually for fear of leaving anyone out. May we collectively thank all teaching staff, classroom assistants, office, caretaking, cleaning and the canteen staff for all the extra time and effort that you committed to help make this happen.

Our thanks to the Parents & Friends’ Association for their hard work throughout the week, the run up to the show, helping with stage set-ups and dismantling! Our thanks to all parents for your support throughout the production, your contributions to costumes and props has been greatly appreciated.

But most of all thanks to the wonderful pupils for your dedication and commitment, for stepping out of your comfort zone to entertain us over the course of the show. You really have been absolutely brilliant.

If any parent is available to help with heavy lifting tomorrow morning, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Primary 6 Transfer SEAG – Parents are reminded that the Schools’ Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG) Transfer Test is now open for registration. Please register as soon as possible, if you are having trouble with the registration process, contact the school and we will gladly help.

Primary 1 Admissions – The final Primary 1 induction day is Tuesday 4^th June 2:15-3:00 p.m.  All new admission pupils are encouraged to attend.  Please ensure that you have returned all necessary forms to the school office.  Please be mindful of extra traffic on these days.

Industrial Action – Due to Industrial Action by three of the main non-teaching unions (UNITE the union, GMB and NIPSA) there will be no canteen facilities Monday 3^rd and Tuesday 4^th June nor will the bus be running (Paschal’s Bus.) All children must bring a packed lunch to school.

School Closure – The school will be closed for the May Break for all pupils and staff from Monday 27^th May – Friday 31^st May (Both days inclusive).  Children may be picked up from school from 12:00 Noon on Friday 24^th May.  We fully appreciate that this may not suit everyone.  Therefore, parents who wish to leave their children until 3:00 p.m. that day may do so.  There will be no afterschool club on Friday 24^th May.  Children attending canteen for lunch on Friday 24^th May must prebook on the ParentPay App. Please make sure your child knows their pickup time. Thank you.
