Be prepared for wet weather. Cross-Country, Gaelic & Soccer players bring boots and trainers.
If you have any concerns or your child has medical needs, please contact the school office and bring to the attention of one of the people in charge. (Boots are required if on the pitch) |
Gaelic /Soccer – Boots are required for playing on the pitch during Gaelic and Soccer sessions. Trainers are not suitable at present.
Dropping Off Children in the Morning – Parents are reminded that once the bell has gone at 9:00 a.m. your child must report to the front office. As the school day has started parents are not permitted to go to their child’s classroom.
Collection of Children in the afternoon – We have witnessed very ‘close calls’ with children nearly getting hit by cars in the past week as parents call their children across the road without exiting their cars. Please meet your child at the gate and take them by the hand crossing the road. Teachers have been asked not to let children leave the gate until an adult collects the child in person. Parents leaving the school in the afternoon should always drive cautiously.
A Day of Dance – Our thanks to all the students from St. Mary’s College, Belfast who came and put everyone through their paces for ‘the day of dance.’ It was once again a fantastic event enjoyed by all who participated in all the dance routines. There will be plenty of exhausted pupils tonight!
First Confession – Congratulations to the Primary 4 pupils on making their First Confession on Tuesday 21st March at Star of the Sea. The pupils were so well behaved in the chapel. Our thanks to all parents for transported to and from the chapel.
School Disco – The Parents & Friends’ Association will be hosting an ‘Easter Disco’ on Saturday 1st April from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Parents can stop and drop children off after the doors open. Children will be supervised; therefore, parents do not have to stay unless they so wish. We would recommend that parents of P1/P2 pupils stay on the premises. All children will receive drinks and treats during the disco. This event is ticket only; tickets are on sale at the office at a cost of £3 from Monday 27th March.
Easter Chicks – Thanks to Mrs Adair for once again making the Easter Chicks for the school. The chicks will go on sale on Tuesday 28th March priced £2.00 each.
Grandparents’ Day – Our thanks to all our Primary 2 families for their help and support on Grandparents’ Day. It was a wonderful event enjoyed by all who attended.
Faughanvale Credit Union School Savings Scheme – All pupils participating in the savings scheme must have their loyalty cards in pouches on Tuesday 28th March in preparation for draw to take place on Tuesday 4th April. The last day for savings will be Tuesday 28th March.
School Choir – The school choir will be singing on Saturday 25th March at Star of the Sea at 5:00 p.m. Choir children have been given a separate note. Please return all ties and hairbands to Miss Wade if you haven’t already done so.
Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel 2023 – Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel begins next week 27th-31st March. It’s free and we would love everyone to be involved. Children can walk, scoot or cycle to school on as many days as possible during the event. Please take care on your way to and from school as this will not be teacher led. Teachers will be keeping a record of all journeys during the event. Big effort by all to reduce our carbon footprint.
