Primary 4 First Communion – Thanks to all who attended the First Communion on Saturday 20th April. Thanks to the Primary 4 teachers and classroom assistants for the preparation before the service. Thanks to Miss Wade and the school choir for singing at the Mass, to Fr. Mc Dermott, Monsignor Dolan and Brian Mc Closkey and the rest of the team at the chapel. The primary 4 pupils were fantastic in every way, their behaviour before, during and after the ceremony was impeccable. Their contribution to all parts of the ceremony was fantastic! It really was a beautiful service that was enjoyed by all in attendance.

Primary 1 Admissions – Parents / Guardians of Primary 1 Admissions for September 2024 have been informed today of their school placement. The school has also sent out a confirmation emails to those beginning Primary 1 in September 2024. We will be having an information evening on Monday 29th April at 8:00 p.m. in the school, all parents of new admissions for September 2024 are encouraged to attend. Primary 1 induction days will begin on Tuesday 30th April 2:15-3:00 p.m. for 4 weeks (Excluding school show week and the week off). All new admission pupils are encouraged to attend. Primary 2 – Printed photos from both Grandparents’ Days have been sent home today as a keepsake. Please check your child’s folder/bag.

Labelling school uniforms – As the weather has started to get warmer many pupils remove jumpers and cardigans throughout the day. Please label all clothing and personal items e.g., water bottles and lunch boxes before sending into school. This always helps us to return lost items to the rightful owners.

School Show- A very important letter regarding the school show has been sent home with pupils today. Please check school bags as there is an important form attached for the request of show tickets. (Only one form should be sent back per family, see attached note) Teachers have been putting ideas together on Google Classroom for costumes and face painting for children. Some year groups will be buying the costumes in bulk to reduce cost and ensure uniformity. Others may request certain items but will direct you towards the best deals.

Congratulations to the boys’ soccer team and their coach Mr Bogle who, after a spate of heavy defeats recently, was beginning to feel the pressure despite The Board’s backing!

Today however, any doubts regarding his position were dispelled when he led the team to glory, defeating a well-fancied Drumachose P.S. 1-0 in the final.

The girl’s soccer team also had a fine tournament, finishing runners-up after being defeated by the only goal of their final against Drumachose.

A great day out for all involved, players, spectators and coaches.

Huge thanks to Mr McCloskey and Faughanvale Primary School for organising and hosting the tournament.
