COVID in School – If your child displays symptoms of COVID, keep them at home and do a Lateral Flow test.  If your child is tested for COVID, please forward a copy of the result of the PCR/Lateral Flow test to the school office.  If a positive result is returned, please contact the school office for further guidance.  If a child tests positive in any class, an email will be sent out to the parents/guardians of pupils in that class.  The guidance has changed; you DO NOT keep your child off school (Unless your child has tested positive!), an updated information email will be sent out if there is a positive case in your child’s class.

School Disco – The Parents & Friends’ Association will be hosting an ‘Easter Disco’ on Friday 8th April from 6:00-7:30 p.m.  Doors will open at 5:45 p.m.  Parents can stop and drop children off after the doors open.  Children will be supervised; therefore, parents do not have to stay unless they so wish.  We would recommend that parents of P1/P2 pupils stay on the premises.  All children will receive drinks and treats during the disco.  This event is ticket only; tickets are on sale at the office at a cost of £3 from Monday 4th April.

The School Show – The school show will take place from Monday 23rd May – Thursday 26th May. More information will follow to year groups regarding costumes required etc. The show this year is ‘The Wizard of Oz’

Big Walk and Wheel!!! – Well done to everyone who has participated in the walk to school this week.  Last week’s winners were Foundation Stage – Miss Wade (We actually believe she recorded children that can walk in her class and not those that walked!!!!); Key Stage 1 – Miss Maguire and Key Stage 2 – Mrs Gillespie.  Congratulations to the winning classes.  We will give you this week’s winners in the note next week along with the overall winners.

We would encourage parents to talk to their children about continuing this healthy practice on a daily basis.  It is the correct start to any day, to get some fresh air and exercise on the way to school.  Children particularly in Key Stage 2 should be encouraged to walk on a daily basis regardless of the weather, the walk from Eglinton Play Park to the school has been timed as a maximum 10 minute walk.

Faughanvale Credit Union School Savings – All pupils participating in the savings scheme must have their loyalty cards in pouches on Tuesday 5th April in preparation for the draw to take place on Tuesday 12th April.  The last day for savings before Easter will be Tuesday 5th April.

Easter Chicks – Thanks to Mrs Adair for once again making the Easter Chicks for the school.  Unfortunately, all 500 chicks have now sold!  Hopefully they will be back again next Easter.

Ladies Netball – Ladies Netball tonight Thursday in Broadbridge Primary School from 8.00-9.00 pm in the Master’s Hall.  All ladies 18+ are welcome to join.  Cost £3.00.

End of School day –  Pupils in Primary 1 & 2 finish school at 2:00 p.m. pupils in P3-7 finish school at

3:00 p.m. Pupils will not be out immediately when the bell rings at these times. The bell signals the end of their day but we do need time to clear away materials, gather up all their possessions, line up and walk them to the front gate.
