Gaelic Jerseys – We are currently sourcing new jerseys for the school Gaelic team, as our current jerseys are now 15 years old!  If there is a local business which would be willing to sponsor part of the overall cost, we would be delighted to enter into negotiations with you!  Please contact Miss Maguire for further details.  Thank you.

A Day of Dance – The very successful ‘Day of Dance’ is back! Children (and staff) will be dancing all day from 9:00 a.m. until home time.  This is led by students from St. Mary’s Teacher Training College in Belfast.  All year groups will be taught many forms of dance throughout the school day, with the closing dance being performed by all year groups together.  This promises to be a fantastic, active day for all.  Pupils should attend school in comfortable sports gear.

Confirmation – Congratulations to the Primary 7 pupils from Broadbridge Primary School who made their Confirmation on Saturday in Star of the Sea.  It was a lovely ceremony enjoyed by all in attendance.  Our thanks to Fr C Mc Dermott, Fr N Mc Dermott and Monsignor Dolan for celebrating the Mass, to the school choir and accompanying musicians, to Brian and Gerry in preparing the church and to all the staff at the school for the many roles they played in making the day so successful.

The confirmation pledge certificates will be given out at a later date.

Gift Aid Forms – Gift Aid forms were issued last week to some of the parents who very kindly contribute to our Planned Giving Scheme.  Gift Aid is a wonderful scheme which enables charities to claim back the tax which donors have paid on their donations from HMRC.  Broadbridge Parents and Friends can receive an extra 25p for every £1 donated and it doesn’t cost you or us anything!  We would ask if any outstanding forms could be returned to school as soon as possible so that we can process our next Gift Aid claim.

Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy – Each family will have received today a trifold summary of our Child Protection & safeguarding Policy.  Please make yourself familiar with this document.  The full policy is available on request from the school office.

First Confession – Primary 4 pupils will be making their First Confession on Tuesday 21st March immediately after 9:15 a.m. Mass in Star of the Sea.  Parents may take their children directly to the chapel on the morning of the 21st March, transportation will also be available from school.

Grandparents’ Day – Well done to all the Primary 2 pupils for the entertaining performance for their grandparents today.  Our thanks to all the classroom assistants, teachers and parents for their help with the event.

Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel 2023 – Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel begins next week 20th-31st March.  It’s free and we would love everyone to be involved.  Children can walk, scoot or cycle to school on as many days as possible during the event.  Please take care on your way to and from school as this will not be teacher led.  Teachers will be keeping a record of all journeys during the event.  Big effort by all to reduce our carbon footprint.

School Choir – Children are reminded to return all ties and hairbands, if not already returned.  Thank you once again for the beautiful singing at the Confirmation Ceremony.

Eglinton Eagles – are hosting a 7-a-side soccer tournament for the 2014-year group at Campsie Indoors 3G on Thurs 23rd March from 3:30 p.m. to approx. 5:30 p.m.  It is open to both boys and girls.  There will be refreshments and food provided, and there will be supervision from the Eglinton Eagles coaches.  We also welcome parents/teachers to attend if they like too.
