If you have any concerns or your child has medical needs, please contact the school office and bring to the attention of one of the people in charge.

Arriving Late – Please note the school day starts at 9:00 a.m. sharp. All children arriving after the bell has rung at 9:00 a.m. must report firstly to the school office. Children arriving late for school interrupt the start of the school day. Please make every effort in the morning to ensure that your child arrives at school in good time.

Absences from school – If your child is absent from school the office must be informed and a reason given for their absence. This is a requirement that must be recorded by the school. Please notify the school office stating your child’s name, class teacher and reason for absence. Thank you.

*** School Crossing Patrol *** – There will be no one available to do the school crossing patrol from Monday the 28th November onwards. Unfortunately, the department have not yet assessed the need for a school crossing patrol on the Coolafinney Road. Therefore, we are not allowed to employ someone for the position. We wish William Mc Laughlin a happy retirement from this position, having manned it for 5 years through hail, wind and snow!

School Choir – The School Choir will be singing at the 10:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday 27th November. Please come along and support the children attending the mass. Choir children have been given a separate note.

SVP –Every family in the school has been issued with tickets for the St. Vincent de Paul Annual Christmas Draw. (Please note you are under no obligation whatsoever to sell these. If you do not wish to sell these, please return in the envelope provided tomorrow Friday 25th November.) Thanks to all who have sold and returned their ticket stubs, your help is greatly appreciated.

Free school meals – The school is very mindful of the cost-of-living crisis many people in our community are facing. As such we would like to inform you that the EA are making free school meals available for children whose circumstances do not fit the usual criteria but who have been identified within school as being in need. The school can make an application for the child/ren and it is reviewed by the department in three months’ time. All referrals will be strictly confidential and made by Mrs Quinn, our Designated Child Protection teacher. Please contact her directly by leaving your name at the school office and she will be in touch at her earliest convenience.

Operation Encompass – Our school continues to ensure that safeguarding is a key priority, and as such we will be an Operation Encompass school from 27th February 2023. This means that if there is a domestic incident at home which the police have been called to, they will contact the Designated Teacher in the school the next morning. All information will be treated confidentially, and only limited details are given, enough to support the child and ensure they can be fully taken care of in school. Please see attached leaflet for more information.

Winter Wonderland ‘Drive Thru’ Invite you to meet Santa Claus at our Winter Wonderland ‘Drive Thru’ event on Friday 2nd December 2022 (This event has been brought forward from Saturday.) between 5:00-8:00 p.m. Santa and his Elves are very excited to meet all the boys & girls.
