School Choir – The school choir will be signing at the 5:00 p.m. vigil mass on Saturday 15th October at Star of the Sea.  Choir children will be given a separate note about the mass.  It would be great to see as many families as possible attending to support the choir at this mass.

Cross Country Team – Best of luck to all the teams participating in the first of the Flahavan Races at Thornhill College Derry on Friday 14th October.

WhatsApp Groups – The school would like to advise parents that it has never been involved in the setting up of WhatsApp Groups for parents in year groups nor in classes.  We use various means of communication with parents, this note for one, social media, Google Classroom, School Website and School Text, therefore we do not require any more.  We have no control whatsoever over the content of the ‘Chats’ and have found in the past that they may be used for the wrong purposes.  Please be mindful that you are putting your private number in the public domain when entering these groups.

Parents & Friends Association – A Parents & Friends Association meeting will take place in the school Thursday 20th October at 8:00 p.m. all new members are welcome to join.

Developmental Language Disorder – Friday 14th October 2022 is Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day.  DLD occurs when a child has a persistent difficulty with understanding and/or using language for no obvious reason.  Did you know that 1 in 14 people experience DLD – that’s 2 children in every class of 30 who experience DLD severe enough to hinder academic progress.  Mrs Sinead Marlow and the Western Trust are trying to raise as much awareness of DLD as possible, so people know what it stands for, and the impact it can have on children.  Teachers have been given further information on Developmental Language Disorder.  Parents please read the attached leaflet.

Walk, Cycle or Scoot to and from School – Congratulations to Mrs Gillespie’s class who had the highest percentage of walkers in the school.  Children should try to keep at this on a daily basis.

Ladies Netball – Broadbridge Ladies Netball tonight Thursday 13th October at Broadbridge Primary School in the Master’s Hall at 8:00 p.m.  All ladies 18+ are welcome to join.  Cost £3.  This week they are joined by Strabane ladies.
