COVID-19 Update Parents are reminded that the school must be contacted if there is a positive case in your household.  Please ring 7181 0520 or email stating your child/ren’s class and a brief outline of the case.


Adults are reminded that they must maintain a social distance at the gates of the school.  We would encourage the use of masks at these points due to the large gatherings at any one time!

Primary 1 Admissions September 2021 –The second group of Primary 1 admissions for September will start their outdoor play sessions this Tuesday for two weeks (Belmont Nursery, Eglinton Community Nursery, Eglinton Community Pre-School, Hollybush PS Nursery, Orchard Community Playgroup and Fountain PS Nursery) 2:15 – 2:55 p.m.  Please do not come into the school grounds for collection.  Your child will be brought to Gate 1 at this time.


Primary 4 First Confession –  Congratulations to the Primary 4 pupils who made their First Confession at school on the morning of Tuesday 1st June with Fr Mc Dermott.


First Communion and Confirmation Ceremony –  Parents of pupils participating in these ceremonies will be sent out allocated seats.


Confirmation Practice- This will take place on Monday 21st June at 6:00 p.m. Only the pupil and sponsor/parent need attend.


Parents’ Classes – Week 4 of Parents’ classes for the parents of Primary 6 pupils preparing for the transfer test continue tonight at 8:00 p.m.  Parents who have registered have been emailed information on how to access the class.  Never too late to join in!


Slaughtmanus GAA Boys and Girls Gaelic – Age 4-13 Wednesday 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Cost £1 – “A great way for the kids to make friends learn new skills, self-discipline and confidence.”

Free School Meals/School Uniform/Physical Education Clothing Allowance 2021-22 –

The Education Authority (EA) will be issuing communications on the EA website and social media channels to inform parents/ guardians about Free School Meals and Clothing Allowances. We would encourage all potential applicants to apply for the support available including Current Eligible Families and New Applicants

Parents/guardians who are currently in receipt of support for the 2020/21 school year will not be sent a pre-populated form for the 2021/22 school year. All parents/ guardians (including new applicants) are required to apply on-line from Monday, 7 June 2021 via the EA website

It is recommended that parents/ guardians apply during the month of June, or as early as possible, to enable applications to be processed for support to be in place for their children for the new school year. Parents/ guardians are being advised of the importance of providing valid Bank or Building Society account details in the claimant’s own name. Payments cannot be made into Post Office accounts.

We would encourage you to apply for this as soon as possible, payment of dinners is required until we have confirmation from the EA  that you are in receipt of Free School Meals which come September may take a few weeks!


Irish FA – Please see attached a Flyer from the Irish FA regarding a summer school which will take place from 2nd-6th August at Broadbridge Primary School.
