Diary:  School Holidays – The school will be closed from the 17th May – 21st May.  Both dates inclusive.

 

COVID-19 Update Parents are reminded that the school must be contacted if there is a positive case in your household.  Please ring 7181 0520 or email info@broadbridgeprimaryschool.com stating your child/ren’s class and a brief outline of the case.

 

Adults are reminded that they must maintain a social distance at the gates of the school.  We would encourage the use of masks at these points due to the large gatherings at any one time!

Skillschool – Skillschool continues on Wednesday P1-P4 and Friday P5-P7.  “Keeping fit and keeping active, made me the person I am today!” Joe Gray – European Relations Officer.

 

Dropping off Children in the Morning – When dropping off children in the morning, please do not exit your car.  Drivers should not reverse at any time.  Please ensure that your child has safely exited the car and is on the pavement away from the car before driving off.  Please be aware that other cars may not be dropping off but may be using the school to return onto the main Coolafinney Road.  The maximum speed limit in the school grounds is 5 kmph.

 

Primary 5 First Confession – Congratulations to the pupils of Primary 5 who made their First Confession at school on Tuesday with Fr Mc Dermott.

 

Primary 4 First Confession – Primary 4 pupils will be making their First Confession on Tuesday 1st June at the school with Fr Mc Dermott.

 

First Communion – Primary 4 pupils will be making their First Communion on Saturday 19th June at 10:00 a.m. in Star of The Sea.  Seating arrangements will be in place for all families that attend.  The family group is restricted to parents and siblings of the Primary 4 child celebrating their Communion.  Masks must be worn inside the chapel by all adults in attendance.  There will be no tea afterwards in St. Anne’s Hall.

 

Confirmation – Primary 7 pupils will be making their Confirmation on Thursday 24th June at 2:00 p.m. in Star of The Sea.  Seating arrangements will be in place for all families that attend.  The family group is restricted to parents, one Godparent and siblings of the Primary 7 child celebrating their Confirmation.  Masks must be worn inside the chapel by all adults in attendance.  There will be no tea afterwards in St. Anne’s Hall.

Parents’ classes – Week 2 of Parents’ classes for the parents of Primary 6 pupils preparing for the transfer test continue tonight at 8:00 p.m.  Parents who have registered have been emailed information on how to access the class.  Never too late to join in!

 

Primary 1 Admissions September 2021 – Please confirm at the school office that your child will be attending Broadbridge Primary School in September 2021 alternatively email info@broadbridgeprimaryschool.com confirming acceptance.

 

Number Day –  Thanks to everyone who donated to NSPCC and took part in Number Day, there were some great pictures and all classes had great fun.  We have raised a total of £624.00 to date.  Any final donation will be collected tomorrow.

SEN Newsletter: RISE NI

This month we would like to raise awareness of an early intervention service, Regional Integrated Support for Education  (RISE NI) who can help to support your child from nursery up to Primary 4. 

Who are RISE NI?

RISE NI is a regional early intervention service which supports children in pre-school educational and  mainstream primary school settings by working closely with parents and education staff to help children develop the foundation skills for learning i.e. speech, language, communication, sensory-motor, visual perception, social, emotional and behaviour skills.

The RISE NI team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social emotional and behavioural practitioners, and support workers.

How can RISE NI help me?

RISE NI have recently launched their parent website and it is filled with lots of useful webinars that you can watch at home at a time that suits you. The website is for the parents and carers of children in mainstream nurseries and primary schools (up to P4). It promotes development of:

  • speech and language
  • fine and gross motor skills
  • social and emotional development

The website contains information leaflets, suggested activities / resources and parent training videos developed by clinical psychologists, behaviour therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
