  • Adults are reminded that they must maintain a social distance at the gates of the school. We would encourage the use of masks at these points due to the large gatherings at any one time!

Drop off your letter to Santa! – Thanks to the Parents & Friends’ Association for organising a truly fantastic night, giving the children an opportunity to drop off their letters to Santa. Thanks to Santa and his band of “little elves” for braving the cold conditions to brighten up so many wee faces. A night to remember for all!

School Day – The school day will return to the normal times after the Christmas break. Primary 1 and Primary 2 pupils will finish at 2:00 p.m. All other year groups will finish at 3:00 p.m. We would encourage as many pupils as possible to walk home or make use of the walking train to reduce the numbers gathering at the school gates.

School Holidays – The school will close on Tuesday 22nd December for all pupils at 12:10 p.m.

Children Going Home on Tuesday 22nd December for Christmas Break – Parents are asked to ensure that the children know how they are travelling home on Tuesday particularly if there is a change to the normal routine.  Walkers, Paschal’s bus children and those going across the ‘Blue Bridge’ will leave at 12 noon.  Children getting picked up by car will leave at 12:10 p.m.  Please drive slowly and with care as you approach the school as there will be a lot of excited children about.

Primary 1 Nativity – Christmas does not start until you watch the Primary 1 Nativity. It is now available on the school website at www.broadbridgeprimaryschool.com    A must watch for all!

Santa Stroll – Week 3 winners Miss Wade Foundation Stage. Mrs Harkin Key stage 1 and Mr Logue Key stage 2. Santa stroll finishes tomorrow 18th December.  Children have until this date to do 15 walks.  This will entitle them to enter the draw for prizes. Thanks to all for participating in the walks.

Carn Na Coille Christmas Tree Farm – Thanks to Gerard O’Donnell and family for donating the Christmas tree to the school this year.

Paschal’s Bus – Pupils are reminded that they must wear a mask whilst travelling on Paschal’s Bus.

Christmas Mass – Fr. Mc Dermott has asked that parishioners do not attend Christmas Masses this year to reduce the footfall in the Chapel. Please attend Mass live through the parish website at www.staroftheseacatholic.com

Saint Vincent de Paul – The Saint Vincent de Paul raffle will take place tomorrow at St. Anne’s Hall. Winners will be notified immediately. Thanks to all our ticket sellers and those who purchased tickets. Our school raised £13,200 for the draw, an unbelievable amount! Thank you all so very much for the generosity shown. The overall amount raised will be in the next school note.

New Entrants – Primary 1 – September 2021 – The application process for those children due to start school in September 2021 opens on 7th January 2021 and closes on the 29th January 2020. Children born between 2nd July 2016 and 1st July 2017 (inclusive) must commence primary education in September 2021.
