ParentPay

We would like to remind parents of the following points when using the ParentPay system:

  • ALL bookings for School Meals, Morning Club, 2-3 p.m. Club and Extra-curricular activities MUST be made and paid for via ParentPay in advance of the date of the event. Retrospective payments should only be made in exceptional circumstances.

  • Bookings must be made by 8:45 a.m. on the day you would like to use a service (with the exception of Morning Club which must be booked the day before). Please note bookings can be made up to 3 weeks in advance.

  • Please ensure that when booking Extra-curricular activities for your child, e.g. Gaelic or netball, that you make the payment for the correct activity and date. Activities for the incoming week will be uploaded onto the system on a Monday morning ready to be paid for as needed.

  • When a new activity is added to the system a notification will be marked against your child’s record to show it is available, this is not a bill. The item will be removed when the activity is ready to be archived i.e. when all payments have been made.

  • When making payments, we would ask parents not to use the bank transfer option if at all possible as this can take up to 10 working days to register and clear with your bank and on the ParentPay system as compared to a payment made using a bank card which registers within a few hours. Bank transfer payments cause a delay if a refund is required in the event that a child is sick and has been booked in.

We would ask parents to check their ParentPay account periodically to ensure that there are no outstanding balances against their account.  If there are any outstanding balances at the month’s end, parents will be notified at the beginning of following month by letter.

There are still a number of families who have not activated their account on the system.  If you need an additional activation letter or if you need to support in setting up your account, please contact the school office and we will help you in any way we can.  Please note going forward this will be the only method of payment available at the school.

Thank you.

SEN Newsletter: RISE NI

This month we would like to raise awareness of an early intervention service, Regional Integrated Support for Education  (RISE NI) who can help to support your child from nursery up to Primary 4.

Who are RISE NI?

RISE NI is a regional early intervention service which supports children in pre-school educational and  mainstream primary school settings by working closely with parents and education staff to help children develop the foundation skills for learning i.e. speech, language, communication, sensory-motor, visual perception, social, emotional and behaviour skills.

The RISE NI team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, social emotional and behavioural practitioners, and support workers.

How can RISE NI help me?

RISE NI have recently launched their parent website and it is filled with lots of useful webinars that you can watch at home at a time that suits you. The website is for the parents and carers of children in mainstream nurseries and primary schools (up to P4). It promotes development of:

  • speech and language
  • fine and gross motor skills
  • social and emotional development

The website contains information leaflets, suggested activities / resources and parent training videos developed by clinical psychologists, behaviour therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.

What webinars are currently on offer?

Some of the webinars/presentations currently on offer cover:

  • Motor Skills Development
  • Understanding Childhood Worry and Anxiety
  • Learning to Learn
  • Speech, Language and Communication Development
  • Sleep Awareness
  • Selective Mutism
  • Attention and Listening
  • Understanding Sensory Processing
  • Sensory Home Strategies

You can access these webinars online at: https://view.pagetiger.com/RISENI/parents

We’re taking part in NSPCC Number Day!

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in Number Day on Friday 7th May 2021.

Everything the NSPCC does protects children today and prevents abuse tomorrow.

The NSPCC needs our support more than ever.  By raising money, we can help to fund their vital services such as Childline – the helpline that’s always there for children and young people whatever their problem or concern.

On average, a child contacts Childline every 25 seconds.

Making maths meaningful

Number Day is a great way to make maths fun and bring about a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude towards it.

  • We are having a fun day of maths activities and we will be taking part in Dress up for Digits. Pupils are asked to wear a top with a number on it (football shirt, cap, netball shirt!).  To help raise money for the NSPCC, we are asking for a suggested donation of £1, and we’d love everyone in the school to take part in this special event.

Safe Fundraising

Please send in a donation to support NSPCC’s work in a sealed envelope.

It all adds up

We’re really looking forward to all the fun of Number Day, and we really appreciate your support. All the money we raise at Broadbridge PS will make an enormous difference to children today and help NSPCC prevent abuse be there for children and keep all children safe.

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Mr D McLaughlin
